Louie was born in Hungary and has lived in awesome places like Germany, Canada, and California, but he has spent most of his life in Fairbanks, Alaska.

 

He has years of programming, drawing, digital artwork and web design experience.

My design asthetic for logo and graphic design is clean and sharp images done with simple geometric shapes and lines that scale from very small to large. Ever since I learned about gestalt theory and how human perception works, I have favored using as few lines and shapes as necessary to convey the intended idea, which makes for highly visible logos and designs that read well from a distance, or as a small icon on a phone.

I used to do more shaded or realistic drawings, but now I have grown to respect and understand the simple things, like comics with their carefully chosen lines and shapes that become larger than life exactly because the details are left to the imagination. This has impacted the way I approach logo and graphic design. I now rely heavily on bold simple shapes and lines, which works well for scalable vector art. My designs have become more clean and focused, with every line or shape having a clear purpose or message.

I have been programming, drawing, typographying, creating digital art and websites, taking photos, and playing/composing music for most of my life. I also love data structures, order, systems, information hierarchies, perception, psychology, color theory, gestalt theory, sound design, mixing music, creating videos, and developing videogames!
